We biked to Window on the Bay Park in Monterey today, where over 3,000 (per #MontereyCountyNow) #HandsOff protestors gathered.

Among our favorite photos: Canadian and US flags blowing in the breeze. We have Canadian and Canadian-American family members, and we cherish them and the long friendship our countries have shared.

As for the many messages on posters spotted today, we especially resonated with this one: “Ugh. Where do I even start."

As #Canadians vote for our new Prime Minister, lest we forget how #PierrePoilievre used #RemembranceDay to denigrate activists and organizers he deemed “too woke” via his populist X account.

"What an absolute disgrace that so many woke activists & authorities used Remembrance Day to push their divisive and radical causes, denigrating our history and the brave military members who sacrificed for it," Poilievre said in a social media post Tuesday.

Divide and conquer is not a strategy that will unite #Canada against our true shared threat, fascist America and it’s war on truth.

What we need is for all #canadians to write their mayors- explain that we need to support the federal government with the #housingcrisis -Then we write our premiers get them to help direct what type of housing should go where and co-ordinate with the federal government #buildcanada - I will be doing my part in writing all levels- Include city councilors even! The more united we are in pushing this - the more likely it will happen and work! #cndpoli

@Greengordon
That's easy then. So, #Tump's sympathisers just need to offer the highest tax cuts, win the election, become part of the #US and the duo #Trump and #Musk can start being "efficient" in Canada.
The very first executive order will be not only to cancel any tax cuts but it will increase the tax on low-income #Canadians. Just look South and you can see what happens.
In the UK, #Brexit was caused by stupidity/naivety: #Labour party was on the fence and #Conservative not emphatic enough.

"#Canadians do appear to favour increased development to mitigate the economic effects of U.S. tariffs, our regulatory regimes need to be stronger, not weaker. Canadian history is replete with examples of tragedy in the wake of weak regulation or deregulation, from the Giant Mine in the Northwest Territories to the Lac Megantic rail disaster in Quebec." theglobeandmail.com/business/c

From @EmmettMacfarlane

"Wasting billions on income tax cuts in this context isn’t just a bad idea, it is ruinous. It’s also the opposite of fiscal responsibility. You don’t starve government coffers at a time when generational investments are needed."

"Moreover, it’s a wasted political opportunity. #Canadians are pissed. They are also scared. They should be."
