I had fabulous fun drawing the map for Darci Cole‘s darcicole.com/ fantasy romance novel. The city is carved inside a small mountain, and has a Middle Eastern vibe, which I hinted at with the font, title and border decoration. The main challenge was detailing the inside layout where different levels are distinct but connecting and a central spiral road winds around a cylinder shaped palace. #storymap #gamemap #mapmakers #rpgart #novelmaps #dndart #citymap #oldmap #ink #lineart

The dwarven city cross section map is finally finished. A geological survey focused on rock types feels a likely product of an underground society. As a result I’ve made the strata and faults of the rocks the most vibrant and detailed part of the map, leaving the tunnels and buildings as mostly negative space. Very early work in progress for a under mountain dwarf city map that I’m experimenting with a new style for. Near future LA nightclub tactical map commission for Freddie Prinze Jnr I did last year. This is my favourite blueprint style map, designing a near future nightclub with holographic dancers, roof area and multiple dance floors was so much fun. Battlemap for a game I ran a while back. This is the site of lonely tower, a ruins. This battlemap is designed to be very large scale to accommodate long range encounters, which aren’t often catered for. I find it annoying t have weapons and spells with long ranges and only battle maps that are 100 ft across. Giving the players space opens up many tactical opportunities.
