@gerrymcgovern #Claude and ALL #AI have an #ObjectiveFunction They attempt to mathematically minimize the number of errors An error is anything other than what will be considered a "correct response" There are hundreds I treat them like #SpecialNeedsStudents Some can see, others can not Some can remember others can not Some can fold proteins, most can not Gemini will not answer questions about #White #Conservative #Politicians Some even interpret songs Learn about AI youtu.be/M2VBmHOYpV8?feature=s

@sloanlance @altbot Worked with AI since the 90s I left a very lucrative career with Pharma/Biotech because funding was pulled Most of the problem people have with AI is that they don't know what it is or how to use it-as if it was ONE THING There are HUNDREDS of them I treat them like #SpecialNeedsStudents Some can see others can not Some can remember others can not Some can fold proteins most can not Expect problems if you write a thesis about Chaucer and are using a cookbook to do it

@anthropy I've worked on and with #AI since the 90s. One of the biggest issues I see now is that people think it's ONE THING. I treat AI/ #LLMs as #SpecialNeedsStudents some can see/others can't, some can remember/others forget, some can fold proteins/most can not. Many people use the wrong AI inappropriately then blame it when they don't get a correct answer. It is a tool. People are trying to write a thesis about Chaucer while using a Cook Book to do it. Then wonder why they have problems.

@the5thColumnist I think you may be one of those who does not understand that #AI is not ONE THING. There are hundreds of them. Moreover, if one uses a Cookbook to write a thesis on Chaucer, one can expect problems. You should be more informed. I've worked with AI since the 90s. They are like #SpecialNeedsStudents. Some can see images, others can not. Some can remember things, others can not. Some can fold proteins. #AI

@dyckron It took me a while to understand that AI/LLMs are very much like #SpecialNeedsStudents Some can see the web, others can not; some can see images, others can not; some can remember past conversations, others can not; some can fold proteins, others can not. Most people say AI thinking it is one thing. Nothing could be farther from the truth.

I recently turned 50 yrs old but don't feel that old. I usually don't feel my chronological age. Sometimes, I'm randomly reminded that I am not a Spring chicken anymore. That happened earlier today, at the grocery store. A masked woman approached me in store & her eyes were bright & happy. She asked me if I was Miss Banh & if I used to work at McTavish Elementary School in the late 90s. I replied, 'Yes, I worked as a specialized TA with disabled kids at McTavish in the 90s.' She was elated & said - 'I was one of your autistic students! I remember you well & missed you when you stopped working there. I want to tell you that your help, support & staying after school hours to help me with my lessons more, made a big difference to my life & my self esteem. I never forgot you. I'm so glad to see you again. Can we please exchange contact info so we can meet up sometime & chat more?
We exchanged contact info. I'm looking forward to catching up with her this Spring 💗

This woman was only 8 years old when she met me at her school. I feel honoured that she remembered me & grateful for the unexpected reunion in a grocery store, decades later.

@comicmuse I see Kubernetes in your bio. I have to ask, I have read about AI/LLMs talking to each other in Kubernetes containers. I'm a statistician and a lousy R programmer. I use AI a great deal and wrestle with it--treating them like #SpecialNeedsStudents. I prompt them, collect their responses, and compare them side by side, a #VirtualClassroomDiscussion. Is there a place on the web where I can (1) prompt (2) collect the responses (3) analyze and be a part of the dialog?

I started with Claude switched to Gemini when it coughed up chunks. I use AIs a lot and they all have their issues and biases. I treat #AIsLLMs as #SpecialNeedsStudents I'm not #Neurotypical--have #Apophenia and #Paredolia and #Synaesthesia Grew up in SE Colorado poverty--homeless at times--to #Evangelical #Narcissistic #Alcoholics Educated myself out of squalor: degrees in Bio, Music, and Statistics. Lived and taught in Kenya Retired from Pharmaceuticals Nice to meet you

My #AI project I prompt #Gemini #Claude #ChatGPT & #Copilot the same prompt to compare the responses, return the results in a table I have asked them to write this code in #R I use #R because it has #CRANR 18000+ packages that #AnalyzeData I am treating them as #SpecialNeedsStudents Some can see, touch the web Some can't remember #VirtualAIClassroom Packages in R are like the specialized regions of the human brain Maybe value in packages #ReturningErrorCodes Building the #Scaffolding #ImOutThere
