For another week and a half, the sun will set at its earliest time in the year. On December 14th, sunset here will be a minute later than it was tonight. Sunrise won't start moving earlier until mid-January. Longer days are coming, but for now I am fully in Cozy Winter™ mode and doing my best to enjoy the heck out of it.

Yesterday I seasoned and roasted three pounds of cubed butternut squash with an onion and some garlic cloves. Today I threw all of that in a soup pot with some stock and other spices, and made soup - which we ate with grilled ham-and-cheese sandwiches. A perfect Cozy Winter dinner, if'n you ask me.

And once I've digested that a bit, there will be eggnog.
