I wish I could integrate my self-hosted bitwarden/vaultwarden passwords in my GNOME desktop and with GNOME Web. Integrated password management and using biometrics on my laptop for my password manager is something I miss a lot from macOS but I'm also not wiling to give up sync and web/mobile clients to do it.

Bitwarden is from the us, but #Vaultwarden is open-source and you can find a European hoster.
Sempre riguardo al mio percorso di "europeizzazione" dei servizi. Dopo mail (@Tutanota), almeno quella personale, e pw manager grazie a #Vaultwarden, ora passo al Cloud, per rimuovere il più possibile da iCloud. Che ne pensate di #Internxt Drive?

Sostanzialmente è un po' come mastodon, c'è un'app/server ufficiale ma se vuoi puoi usare/spostarti su app/server compatibili senza vincoli.

Nachdem ich #FreshRSS auf einem Oracle Free-Tier-Server laufen lasse, werde ich mich mal an #Vaultwarden heranwagen. Mal sehen, ob das klappt (der ganze Sync mit verschiedenen Geräten und Keypass funktioniert nur so leidlich).

Team behind the VW solution is very on top of things in terms of features that BW pushes down and its not keeping for themselves. A simple 1 or 2 container solution will get you up and running in minutes.
It support multi-user setup, shared collections, and full compatibility with export options towards official BW or 3rd party managers.
Ok, so what is the fediverse's opinion on Bitwarden and Vaultwarden?
I was giving GrapheneOS a spin and since 1password doesn't have an FDroid app I spun up a vaultwarden docker and installed Bitwarden.
Functionally I like it, and it could be an alternative for my 2FA keys too.
Anything that I should be watching out for? Is there any gotchas that I'm missing?
#Vaultwarden unterstützt sogar Push in die mobile App. Man kann die eigene Instanz so einrichten, dass Änderungen im Tresor automatisch in die mobile App gepusht werden, ohne manuelles Nachladen.
Ich bin bisher sehr von dem Passwortmanager überzeugt. Seit dem letzten Test vor einigen Monaten, hat sich die UX auch etwas verbessert.

Today, I'm grateful for vm-bhyve and #ZFS.
On the original host:

And I have the zfstools package performing auto-snapshots of the entire VM's storage every 15 minutes, hour, day, week, month, and year.
That way, if the VM is compromised, I can simply rollback the entire VM to the last known good state.
Gestern #Vaultwarden auf dem Raspberry Pi neben PiHole zum Laufen gebracht. Als selbstgehosteten Server für #Bitwarden. Damit liegen die Passwörter in meiner eigenen Cloud.
War etwas fummelig, weil man ein SSL Zertifikat benötigt..

Lesezeichen rüber, Passwörter (mangels eigenem #Vaultwarden ) auch erstmal.
Und alle Geräte sind in 5 Minuten umgestellt.
Und wieder einmal könnte ich mich in den eigenen Hintern beißen, das nicht viel früher getan zu haben!

Je suis (enfin) en train de mettre un #Vaultwarden en place. Actuellement on utilise un Keepass 2 synchro sur un lecteur réseau, ce n'est pas l'idéal.
J'ai importé la base Keepass dans une organisation et j'aurais voulu que tous mes utilisateurs aient accès à tous les sous( et sous sous dossiers) de la collection.
Sauf que même ne les mettant en admin ça ne le fait pas. En mettant un rôle "Personnalisé" ça le fait.
Je loupe un truc ou c'est mal foutu ?
