dear #DuckDuckGo or other search engine: I want a little button next to every #search result that lets me exclude it from all search results for me, personally, forever. With an option to block the entire domain.

I'm definitely looking at #pinterest but there's just a lot of #AI slop out there. Tons of AI-generated websites. Even without the AI search "helper" things, I get a lot of shit that is just really low quality.

I don't think I see this witih DDG (there is a "give feedback" button with unclear effects on my personal search experience) and I'm not familiar with many other search engines now (except google and no). But if there's something out there that already has this functionality, I'll be happy to check it out and happy for the referral.

I currently run/moderate a discord server with about 120 members. I'm looking to move away from that platform to something I can host myself (or worst case, through a service). We use voice chat, text chat/channels, user roles, and media uploads. Desktop streaming and video chat is a plus, but not required. Ideally users could choose between browser-based, desktop, and mobile clients. I'd like to prioritize ease of adoption too, since most of these folks are long term discord users.

I'm looking at Matrix right now (and considering hosting with etke.cc) but I would appreciate any suggestions!

@IceCubesApp I like your app and use it quite a lot. One small gripe at the moment: when I am scrolling and reading down the timeline there seems to be some sort of update which catapults me somewhere completely different and I can’t get back to where I was and it feels onerous and wearisome. Would be great if the timeline stayed as it was whilst I’m reading through. Otherwise all fine and works very well.

I was thinking about my post from earlier.

And I sort of wonder what would happen if we all decided to open our windows at a certain designated time (say, 1 PM local) and simply unleash a blood curdling screech. Would a collective Daily Scream make the world a better place? Would that improve people’s mental health? I don’t know. But it’s ideas like this that I think may be worth trying.

I really miss an algorithm for my feed.
People tend to go on barricades when they hear this. But I would wager they are burnt from "commercial" application of such.

I see too many posts I really don't car eabout, like knottin' a sweater. And the tech posts I never see as the current "algorithm" is "show all post by date, newest on top".

A self-hosted, under your control configured algorithm can be benevolent.

As Mastodon is right now, It is borderlining useless. Interessting (to me) posts need to happen in that moment I am on the site. An hour later (or less) and they are gone.

And I do not have time to keep reading continuously.

Just one small point which I have noticed recently is the following: when I try to press on the purplish button to „load new posts“ which appears at the top of the screen I often end up inadvertently activating a link underneath and get sent off to wherever. I am looking for suggestions about noise-cancelling headphones. There are two use cases for me:

1. when in bed and I am listening to relaxing music, potentially sleeping on them.
2. when I'm working, remove distractions from noise from external sources (ex: grass trimmers)

1. Since the “Local timeline” and “Federated timeline” now links to “Live feeds” with tabs for “This server”, “Other servers”, and “All”, I think it's less confusing for newbies to just see:

“Public timeline”.

2. In addition to the above, when pinning the “Live feeds” column, it should pin “Live feeds”, not “Local timeline” or “Federated timeline”.

2.b. By the way, when you are on the “Other servers” and “All” tabs when you pin it, it both pins “Federated timeline”.

This might be confusing for newbies, since the “Other servers” tab filters out the “This server”/“Local timeline”. But they'll get the old “Federated timeline” column when “Other servers” is pinned.

So, indeed, it will be better to pin “Live feeds”, with the tabs intact, instead of using the old “Local timeline” and “Federated timeline” columns.

Anyone have a suggestion for me for a new phone game? I have Android, and I don't mind spending money if there is decent replayability. I don't like idle games, rogue-likes, strategy, or tower-defense.
