Solid Sunday run today

5.7km because #Garmin 10k plan suggested a structured workout and it turned out to be good

10’ warm up
1.5 miles / 2.4 km easy run
0.5 mile / 800m all out
10’ cool down

It’s interesting because my cool down pace after the all out is pretty much the same pace of the easy run and it felt like something relaxing. I’m sure there is some interval training science there.

Fun experiment. I did very well and I am happy with today’s run.

What a joy Call of the Wild by Disneyland after Dark is to run to. Back in the day I wore out this LP. The album sleeve is also a joy to read the lyrics and drawings along too, think of the small cartoons in the margins of MAD Magazine.

Counting the Cattle gotta the best cow-punk track out there hands down ;)

Most of today's run was in sandy tracks, which are heavy running,

My first marathon ever completed. 🎉

I met some nice people at the starting area and chatted with them the entire marathon. 😊

We walked at all the water points and I had to stop twice to pee. 😁

I stopped halfway and greeted my family. 😍

The crowd along the entire route was fantastic. A great experience and I had no problems at all. 👌

My finish time? I have no idea. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Missed out on a run yesterday so made it up with a double album run today. Started off with the joyful Stakka Bo - Supermarket, lyrics are still apt today as it was back in '93. This helped me through the forest and the sandy tracks to the beach. Where Rage Against the Machine as always kicked butt, serious air drums and screaming along to Killing in the name, Bombtrack and Bullet in the Head etc was only heard by the wind and the waves as I did nearly 3.5km all alone on the beach.

Beautiful sunny morning. Had a few muscular twinges and aches going out. They are all still there, but nothing got much worse on the run.
24 miles done, so my longest run before the marathon (and ever!) It's still 4 weeks out, so I'll still keep the miles up, but spread them out over the week.
Pleased I've got this far, I always thought these distances were beyond me.

Today I finished my last #run of 15 weeks of training for the #halfmarathon in #Bonn. I'm thankful that I had no issues with my knee the whole time. This year, I won't aim for a new personal best (1:33:45), even though both #Garmin & #Stryd predict almost the same finish time as last year.
I think anything under 1:39:59 is fine. The big goal this year is the #Marathon in #Cologne — and for that, I still have many limits to push
