@doctormo Hi and thanks!
Ok, so I use any and all CAD/CAM extensions like #inkstitch Spherobot and such with success.
The problem I run into ever so often, sort of every time I try to install and run a new (for me that is) extension I struggle so much before getting it to work.
This time I needed the 'Lasercut Box', the 'Elliptical Box Maker' and the 'Living Hinge' that won't work at all. Now I got them showing up under extensions but still not doing anything.

The #Inkscape summit in Frankfurt had just ended, and we had participation from 7 members (with 2 from #InkStitch !) There were quite a few developments, including a new web-based translation service, updates to the extension system, color font support, PDF work, and more.
Read all about it on our news post:

My #MankyHanky series continues with the addition of yuck, gross, and bodily fluids. Running low on white so I figured I'd try out another usually white thread...
Thanks all for comments. The napkins were made last Thursday and posted on Friday.
I went with the very unoriginal "Enjoy!", and with "Bain Sásta As" which I would hope the recipient gains some satisfaction from...
The new lettering in #InkStitch is magic.
c) Too many details. As described in the previous images, the texts "illegal" + "instructions" are barely readable. Maybe it's too small... or I should not have chosen both stroke and filling.
Quite likely, many things due to lack of experience. But sometimes you have to fail in order to improve.. that is supposably the core of "learning". -- I am open for any ideas and hints. How can my #embroidery be improved? I am actually happy that there is #FOSS such as #inkscape and #InkStitch available!
My workflow:
1) download the assets from the #38c3 styleguide (https://events.ccc.de/congress/2024/infos/styleguide.html)
2) rework the SVG file in #inkscape so that there's no unwanted fills and overlaps; play with stroke widths
3) use #InkStitch and its paramter dialog to tweak the values; resize the logo to fit into a 100 mm x 100 mm frame (physical limit of my machine); export a PES file
4) transfer the PES file on an old memory card (my machine reads, no USB connection) using brother's PED Basic software
Another attempt in using #InkStitch. This time the idea was to create my own #38C3 T-shirt - with glow-in-the-dark thread. However, I am not too happy with the end result as I've made several mistakes. A learning experience for me.

Gibt es Kurse für ##inkstitch?
First attempts to use Ink/Stitch open source embroidery design software. Used the logo of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) here — fleur-de-lis.
On the second day of #OggCamp2024 @kianryan and @CatRyan returned for further adventures.
@CatRyan caught a great talk about #inkstitch and #turtlestitch by Prof Margaret Low.
@kianryan gave a lightening talk on the Frankenender.
We've had a wonderful weekend at OggCamp24. Met lots of interesting people, watched and participated in many talks and demos. We're really looking forward to next year!
And thank you so much to the #InkStitch folks who came to #Kielux, had a booth there, started a patch-making cooperation with #fossgis, stitched names on visitors' t-shirts, donated two stitched oven mitts for the raffle, and gifted me this cute, cute, cute keyfob with my avatar!
I love it so much...
