Faust: Love of the Damned is a peculiar little property. It's very much like Spawn as it was a comic about a guy who is a demonic anti-hero, but it came first and was nowhere near as popular which led it to be considered a ripoff when the movie came out after Spawn's. • have antihero acknowledge their wrongdoing and suffer for it
• paint a tragic past that made them this way
• offer an even worse foe as villain
• create a world where their actions are good-ish (relatively speaking)
• emphasise their humanity & their good sides
• make their bad deeds seem justifiable
• make them attractive, cultured, polite
