So, it's probably too late in the season to try again, but does anyone have tips on how to get #PussyWillow branches to root? I've done it with other plants, but I'm having a devil of a time getting keeping them alive. Shade? Sun? What's the secret?

Belaugh Boatyard had it's usual changing collection of #craft. The river had long flows of #PussyWillow. The #Wroxham locals were out #swimming at Caen Meadow and negotiating Wroxham Bridge took all my concentration, so no time for a photo.

Day boats and strange launches are in the water. There are the usual collection of wooden yachts under repair ashore.

Seen through the cabin window, people if all ages are swimming and playing in the river.

The river has a band of white on its surface running downstream formed from floating willow seed.

Approaching Wroxham Bridge from upstream. Customers are in the beer garden at the Kings Head There are still lines of day boats ready for hire along the bank. The bridge itself out of sight round the dogleg ahead.

I visited my pussy willow friend this morning

A branch of pussy willow flowers, also called catkins, the top one bursting into long yellow anthers with red tips. The other buds on the branch are blurred out but at different early stages of blooming.

Same #pussywillow shot as a few days ago but in its true rotation.

Stems bearing fuzzy pussywillow buds reach into frame from the right. The buds have burst open and the hazel fuzz are covered in bright droplets of water. The background is an indistinct nest of dark reddish stems reaching further left in front of even more indistinct creek reflecting brightly.

Macro Pussy Willow on Blue. Growing up in Germany we would decorate Pussy Willows with decorated eggs. We would eat scrambled eggs for weeks to have enough empty eggs to decorate. Pussy willow is a name given to many of the smaller species of the genus Salix when their furry catkins are young in early spring. These species include Goat willow or goat sallow, a small tree native to northern Europe and northwest Asia. Ukrainian and Russian Orthodox; Ruthenian, Polish, Czech, Slovak, Bavarian, and Austrian Roman Catholics; Finnish and Baltic Lutherans and Orthodox; and various other Eastern European peoples carry pussy willows on Palm Sunday instead of palm branches. My neighbor makes an Easter bucket with eggs hanging off it every Spring. A few years ago she gave me the branches which had started to root. I stuck them in the ground with the intention to move them later. Off course, I never got around to it.
