" 200 or so, countries world-wide, and they only include terms and cite laws, that they know apply to them. "
So many corporate simps ignore this little fact.

Do you see Proton cite terms for Japan or Korea, or any other friendly nation? No, because Proton is only subject to the laws where they are a registered business. Proton only (and others like them) worries about the ones that apply to them, and they include the United States of America for a reason.

Proton is leaving because Proton cannot control the flow of information here on the Fediverse.

Most corporations mimic social algorithms to their advantage, particularly, to suppress news and information that may not paint them in a good light. Proton cannot do that on the Fediverse.

When Proton rebranded a few years ago, which caused some people to lose their accounts with no refund, they silenced any complaints on both Facebook and Reddit. I know, because I was one of those people. Most of you were happy to have the new upgraded accounts, but if you had the original family plan, which they discontinued (only to start selling a new family plan months later), you were not a happy person to find out you lost your service.

Additionally, it has been brought to people's attention that Proton now falls under Us-jurisdiction. Proton would like to argue that is only for Proton Wallet, but our legal system does not allow a company to pick and choose. Plus, even if they could (you cannot), it means they could still be pressured and influence by US Politics and US Laws now. This was another little fact, Proton wanted to suppress, but cannot because the Fediverse is organic, and not centralized.

@protonprivacy
Is this seriously your chicken shit response to getting pushback on one of your company heads sucking on an orange dictators rod?

The minuscule amount of effort it takes to copy and post to other services or to set up an automated system is so damn small. You seriously can’t muster any energy to post on a decentralized social media? WTF!

Reddit is a cesspool. #fireAndyYen and get your shit together! #proton #protonmail #protonvpn #protonprivacy #protonpass #FuckU

I've been a happy free #protonmail user for a few years, and recently decided to "upgrade". The integration of other features has been really frustrating - especially the #protonpass password manager. It generates random strings just fine, but it does not always remember them! I have had to reinstall and re-register a couple of apps and do some tedious account recoveries in the past week; so much that I have decided I am better off without that particular feature. Looking for a good password manager again.

The current #Proton outage is even locking me out of my #ProtonPass. This is bad. One thing is not being able to check emails or to access cloud storage, another is not being able to access one’s own passwords!!!

I am seriously thinking about moving back to #KeePassXC, that served me so well for so many years (not just because of this particular event, but because it is a community-maintained, local-first software, much less prone to this kind of troubles)!

This is unacceptable, @protonprivacy.
