Does anyone know what's going on with the #GoogleDomains and #Squarespace situation? I have some domains that I either need to renew or transfer... I do have domains with #GoDaddy, but they aren't the cheapest these days, especially not if I want to transfer several domains... That being said, I've always had great interaction with their customer service. What should I do?

All went well... 16 #domains... one fell swoop... even my @protonmail...
Or did it...? Nope... worked for a week, then... nothing.
But I followed all the instructions... all the #badges were green...!?!
Then it happen @protonmail disabled all my email accounts... ugh... now what... they can no longer #verify my #domain.

Well, I've been meaning to do this for a while but I've finally got around to moving my area51 domains away from Google - before they move everything to Square Space.
Was fairly painless... other than one domain didn't get it's dns transfered automatically - whoops #itsAlwaysDNS

I received an email from Google informing me that Google Domains has been sold to Squarespace.
Google is so unreliable. I spent a lot of time on Google+ and they shut it down. Now they're selling off Domains one year after I bought one.
I've never been a fan of how wordpress dot com domain management works, but they do seem trustworthy. & if you were on #GoogleDomains to begin with, there's a good chance Automattic can give you everything you need at competitive pricing & without as much risk of your platform getting shut down without much warning.
I feel like I heard a rumor some time back that #GoogleDomains was going away, but I might be conflating it in my memory with #GoogleSites. Anyway, it's just an illustration of why one should never, EVER trust Google with ANYTHING business-critical, unless one has absolutely no other choice.

Sunset of #googledomains not test begin but there are already options highlighted. To be honest #cloudflare is one of decent alternatives if your domain extension is supported.
So with Google Domains being hawked to Squarespace, and me trying to extricate myself from giant corporations, who's got recommendations for a domain registrar that's not shady and actively making the world a worse place?
Right now I'm looking at Dynadot and Infomaniak but I don't really know anything about them.

With #googledomains being the latest product killed by Google, is anyone else trying to transfer their .dev domain out? #aws R53 doesn’t support the dev tld, and #cloudflare says it’s “coming soon” with no ETA… Any/all advice is welcome
