Showing real-time vehicle speed on the Game Boy sounds like it should be relatively easy, but the iconic game system wasn’t exactly built for such a task. Its 2 MHz CPU and 160×144 pixel dot-matrix screen were every kid’s dream in 1989, but using it as a car dashboard is pushing it. To bridge that gap, [John] designed two custom circuit boards.
One interfaces with the Game Boy, intercepting its memory requests and feeding it data from a microcontroller. The other processes the CAN bus signals, translating speed information into a form the Game Boy can display. Ich bin leider nicht optimistisch. Zum Beispiel (Teil 3 vom Video) interessiere ich mich gar nicht für Macht. Mich mit guten Ideen machtvoll durchzusetzen, ist mir schon im sowas wie einem Vereinsgefüge so eine üble Anstrengung, dass ich lieber gehe und sie solo umsetze. Die Reibungsverluste sind schwerwiegender als der Aufwand, Dinge alleine zu tun. Nur so wird die Welt halt nicht gerettet.
Genau diese Risse im #System #Putin's sollte man ausfindig machen und erweitern, sodass die #Kleptokratie #brüchig wird und zu #bröckeln beginnt. They are upgrading the #software running a #radar I work with. One of the tests is obviously how good the data looks. The new software has higher standard deviations than the old software (#statistics)
And that's it. They are trying to debug it based on just the std dev.
I looked at one of the tracks and there was clearly a time dependent trend.
I keep telling them and telling them that just thinking in terms of "standard deviation" is making them assume gaussian #noise sources.
But if you look at the #data as a *time series*, you will start thinking about the processing and what would be happening at different points in a track and how it might go wrong starting at certain points.
It's a purely software #engineer team--they know about radar (more than I do!), but aren't #system engineers.
It's been going on long enough that I want to say something to someone higher up. But I don't want to adopt another project....
