marqle<p>I never really understood why we have to believe an artist is a good role model.</p><p>Perhaps it's because so many of the <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>music</span></a> <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/makers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>makers</span></a> I like were horrible people that I was disillusioned at an early age.</p><p><a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/jamesbrown" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>jamesbrown</span></a> <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/rickjames" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>rickjames</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/miledavis" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>miledavis</span></a> to mention a few. </p><p>No one expects their builder or plumber to be a good person let alone a role model. </p><p>These people are marked by their skill, not by their moral insight. </p><p>I think it might just be time we left the delusion and started looking at the real world. </p><p>The real world where some horrible <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/humans" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>humans</span></a> are nonetheless gifted with extraordinary <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/abilities" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>abilities</span></a>. </p><p>That's how it's always been. It's unlikely to change.</p>
