moki“Nothing is original” <a class="u-url mention" href="https://pixelfed.social/jim.jarmusch" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@jim.jarmusch</a> last weekend i found a photograph of the treehouse i painted for MÄANDER (published by <a class="u-url mention" href="https://pixelfed.social/hatjecantzverlag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@hatjecantzverlag</a>) in the <a class="u-url mention" href="https://pixelfed.social/cabinporn" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@cabinporn</a> book it’s taken from a different angle but you can clearly recognize it. i would like to underline that i am sitting on the shoulders of giants: my paintings are often reworks of the existing works by other artists, like this example shows. i collect, recompose, collage and through recombination and putting the sujets in a new context, awake new associations and create something else. “The modern illusion concerning painting (which postmodernism has done nothing to correct) is that the artist is a creator. Rather he is a receiver. mokiUrsus arctos – Braunbär "Mit jahreszeitlich bedingten Jo-Jo-Effekten kennen sich Bären aus - verfolgen jedoch eine deutlich smartere Strategie als der Homo sapiens, der winters zulegt und die Kilos frühjahrs nicht loswird. Bären hingegen specken bis zum Herbst auf und zehren von ihrer zentimeterdicken Fettschicht, sobald sie die XL-Version ihres Selbst zur winterlichen Langzeitverdösung in eine Höhle bugsiert haben. mokiCheirogaleus medius – Fettschwanzmaki ”Den wenig schmeichelhaften Namen dieses Miniatur-Primaten aus Madagaskar mag ein unromantischer Pragmatiker erdacht haben, verweist er doch schnörkellos auf den nach Herz und Hirn wohl wichtigsten Körperteil des Tropenbewohners: den Fettschwanz, ein Depot für kalorische Reserven. Dieses zapft der nachtaktive Lemur während der madagassischen Trockenzeit an. Zwischen April und Oktober, wenn Wasser und Futter knapp sind, zieht sich der Maki in eine Baumhöhle zurück, drosselt seinen Herzschlag von mehr als 300 Schlägen pro Minute auf gerade mal sechs oder weniger und winterschläft — bei 35 Grad Celsius. mokiGonepteryx rhamni // Zitronenfalter „Läuft - beim Zitronenfalter. Vorm Winter jedenfalls, denn da lässt er ordentlich Körpersaft ab. Sucht sich dann einen vertrauenswürdigen Spalt oder Baum oder ein ebensolches Blatt, klappt die Flügel zusammen und verharrt an Ort und stelle stocksteif bis zum Frühjahr. Sogar eingeschneit. Ein Ende als Schmetterlings-Ötzi muss er nicht fürchten: Körpereigenes Glyzerin wirkt als Frostschutzmittel, selbstbei Temperaturen weit im zweistelligen Minusbereich. Übrigens der Zitronenfalter ist der einzige heimische Schmetterling, der als Outdoorer unter freiem Himmel überwintert! mokiDie Geschichte stammt aus China und erzählt von einem alten Maler, der den Freunden sein neuestes Bild zu sehen gab. Ein Park war darauf dargestellt, ein schmaler Weg am Wasser und durch einen Baumschlag hin, der lief vor einer kleinen Tür aus, die hinten in ein Häuschen Einlass bot. Wie sich die Freunde aber nach dem Maler umsahen, war der fort und in dem Bild. Da wandelte er auf dem schmalen Weg zur Tür, stand vor ihr still, kehrte sich um, lächelte und verschwand im Spalt.
