I've been trying for two years to give them money to fill NI gaps so I'll have a full pension.</p><p>If they bother to reply it can be months before their reply arrives. Joining their centuries long phone system isn't viable - I can't sit on hold for two or three hours to speak to someone who just tells me to send another letter...</p>

Keith<p>In retrospect the moment I went insane will be recognised as today, as I battled with <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/HMRC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HMRC</span></a>'s insistence that characters such as + and worst still the return key are not allowable in the additional information box on the tax return.</p>
