Stefano Marinelli<p>Years ago, I found a VHS tape from my childhood. It was the early '80s, I was a little kid, and my uncle was filming with one of the first VHS cameras. I was at the beach, walking on the sand. I walked carefully, avoiding sharp shells or any pointed stones that might hurt me. I still do that today. My uncle would often ask, "Are you walking on eggshells?" to highlight my cautious, delicate steps. Sadly, my uncle has been gone for thirteen years now. But those words, recorded on tape, often play in my mind. Blake Patterson<p>It was 40 years ago this week that the Atari ST was announced at the January 1985 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. </p><p>Not long after, in the fall of 1986, I got my own Atari 520ST system and count it as one my favorites among the many systems I haveowned over the years. At that time, they both worked 2 jobs, including a nighttime janitorial couples job at local government offices. I was in my early troublesome teen era. I threw a party at our home &amp; invited only my friends from 3 different high schools. The word got out &amp; every single high school crowd had found out about it. Our street had hundreds of teens arriving, almost all at once. I was flabbergasted &amp; didn't know what to do because people wouldn't leave. Several had invaded my bedroom &amp; messing my stuff up. parents came home. They were freaking out. My Mom picked up her broom &amp; started yelling &amp; literally sweeping people out with broom. 6 cop cars arrived because neighbours called. Everyone scattered. I jumped in a car with 3 friends &amp; met up with others at Layritz Park. Where we then set up a random obstacle course &amp; did races at it for 2 hours before cops came to chase us off. We ended up at Durrance Lake &amp; skinnydipped by moonlight.</p><p>I was grounded for 2 weeks &amp; had my driving privileges revoked for a month. I deserved it for being an irresponsible little shit.</p>
