I played through <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/MakingofKarateka" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MakingofKarateka</span></a> &amp; I only just realized there's a TON of DLC for <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Atari50" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Atari50</span></a>.</p><p>This was the 1st Digital Eclipse release of these <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/GenX" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GenX</span></a> documentaries on classic video games. Lots of Jordan Mechner videos... really cool background on <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Karateka" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Karateka</span></a>.</p><p>✅ The Making of Karateka | Xbox<br><a href="https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/store/the-making-of-karateka/9n28hrlh972x" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">xbox.com/en-US/games/store/the</span><span class="invisible">-making-of-karateka/9n28hrlh972x</span></a></p>
Kenny Park<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mstdn.games/@spinning_bird" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>spinning_bird</span></a></span> I don't think any reaction is invalid, whether it's coloured by the context or not. <br>I'm absolutely loving the <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.online/@DigitalEclipse" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>DigitalEclipse</span></a></span> titles <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Atari50" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Atari50</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/MakingofKarateka" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MakingofKarateka</span></a>. I wouldn't give those games a second look if they were new &amp; free on Steam, but the history's intoxicating.<br>Last year played <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/Bioshock" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Bioshock</span></a>, and I'm just now starting the original <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/FFVII" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FFVII</span></a>, because they were gaps in my knowledge. Fully expected both to be homework exercises, but surprised by how bloody awesome they both are.</p>

kurtsh<p>Among the many images &amp; videos, they have dot-matrix printed letters between Jordan Mechner &amp; <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Broderbund" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Broderbund</span></a> Founder Doug Carlston while Jordan was 19yo at Yale.</p><p>Including instructions to run the game from the floppy he sent:</p><p>"BRUN DEATHBOUNCE"</p><p>God, i know I'm old but I just love this stuff.
