And it didn’t turn out to be a richly-photographed visual or soundtrack-feast sonic memoir of 1980 Queens. I’m not sure what it was. I wish Gray had read and taken inspiration from <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/JonathanLethem" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#JonathanLethem</a>’s <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/TheArrest" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#TheArrest</a> for how to tell a story with a naive and desensitized narrator.
