Peter "Poly" Paterson<p>After about 9 years of using Linux Mint I discovered Solus in November 2016 and I was hooked. Through IRC and the forum <span class="h-card"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@ikey" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>ikey</span></a></span> and I became good friends.<br>Knowing I would be visiting Ireland with Arianna in October 2018 I arranged to meet with Ikey in Tullamore, County Offaly. Unfortunately for us, he had to move to England a few months before our visit. Arianna still visited the town and had a great time touring around.<br>I am still using Solus these days, on my Razer Blade 15 laptop, with PCLinuxOS on my main desktop. The team are maintaining and developing the OS really well. Budgie remains my DE for that distro.<br>Ikey is now working with a team on Serpent OS, a wonderful Linux project that I have been following. <a href="https://serpentos.com/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://serpentos.com/</a> This project will soon be renamed to AerynOS.<br>Do yourself a favour and try out the live-USB for yourself. You will be impressed!!<br><br>This month Ikey was a guest on the YouTube show Tech Over Tea.<br><a href="https://youtu.be/8HHLe2GcxNw" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/8HHLe2GcxNw</a><br>Of course I was interested, and now listening to the whole 2 hour episode.<br>Language warning: It's Ikey. There shall be some f-bombs in the conversation flow.<br>He remains as one of the most intelligent people I knew, and makes Linux development sound easy. Half of the time I have no idea what he is on about, but I enjoy listening to him.<br><br><a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/linuxmint" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxMint</span></a> <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/solus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Solus</span></a> <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/pclinuxos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PCLinuxOS</span></a> <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/serpentos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>SerpentOS</span></a> <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/aerynos" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AerynOS</span></a> <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/ikey" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Ikey</span></a> <a href="https://polymaths.social/tags/techovertea" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TechOverTea</span></a></p>
