Sure, I put some of my CVS modules converted to git over there so that the modern crowd who cannot use a real VCS can find it, and to make use of their resources to run some tests on many systems, but I’d not be disappointed were it to go away.
I made my GitHub account in Middle School—I don't think I realized there were alternatives at the time. I didn't really know how to properly use Git either.
A while ago I dropped github for gitlab, which (pretty sure) wasn't some proprietary thing.
Turns out I so rarely post anything to public repos nowadays that I forget to relocate again.
