In February I joined my annual Make-A-Thing-A-Day group that gathers on FB. I bought supplies and spent the month playing around with Zentangle tiles, neurographic art, and a new set of watercolor magic markers (which are the bomb!). All low energy and very manageable.

With the new meds and the progress I'm making, I hope to make it back to the pottery by summer, but until then, I'm having fun!

Apparently Zentangle HQ have designated the pattern Huggins as Tangle of the Year 2025. It’s one of my favourites, and I used it here as my string, filling each scroll shape with other patterns. It can be drawn with a regular grid, but I prefer the Crazy version. 😊
Tangle Tile No. 170 Crazy For Huggins. White Zendala with black ink and graphite shading.
Includes: Crazy Huggins, Walk The Line, Tipple, Weighted Printemps, Mooka, Hollibaugh, Triplex.

I treated myself to a lovely hardback Zentangle HQ journal a few months ago and I had been sitting looking at it for ages thinking it was a shame to sully its pristine pages. Which is of course ridiculous! So on Christmas Eve I made a start 😁
It’s going to be my travelling tangle journal that I take with me when I’m away from home. It may take a while to fill…

I drew this tile a few weeks ago when I was visiting the North East. It was a lovely sunny late afternoon in the park! Tangle Tile No. 118 - Iris Brickfield Tea Time.

Fluid square 9x9cm on Original cardstock stained with tea.
Includes: Shattuck, Rick’s Flux, Tipple, Walk The Line, plus one I can’t figure out.

Another day, another #Zentangle

This time I'm mainly looking at the paper. I've been trying to decide what kind of paper I want to use (probably going to get a square die so I can just die cut exact tiles), and today I realised that this 50% cotton watercolour paper (CP) is probably a decent option even for the black-and-white ones.

It's decently cheap, a bit of texture, and should I later want to add watercolour I know it'll handle it.
