Good morning.

Yesterday, I put a cover over our pergola, and I can already tell I won’t be taking it on and off throughout the year. I plan to remove it when winter returns—or perhaps sooner if a hurricane decides to make its way here this season. I’m feeling pretty proud of myself for crossing off two items from my ever-growing 'do tomorrow' list. Spring is such a wonderful time of year and my absolute favorite—it’s not too cold, not too hot. If it were a bed, it’d be the one Baby Bear finds just right. The grass is green and thriving, butterflies flutter about, and flowers are in full bloom. 'The hills are alive with the sound of music,' or at least they would be...if we had hills.

My 25 years of palaeoart chronology...
The 2022 Korean translation of Locked in Time (by Dr Dean Lomax & published by Columbia University Press) commissioned me to colourise my 50 greyscale illustrations. "Their Last Embrace" shows two Allaeochelys turtles copulating to their death in a toxic Eocene Messel Lake.
Never too late. A roughly 100-year-old western Santa Cruz Galápagos tortoise has become a mom for the first time after reproducing with a male of the same age at the Philadelphia Zoo. Read about it @LiveScience:
