By the way, After Effects 25.2 was just released with honestly one of the biggest features – High Performance Preview Playback.
It takes advantage of how fast modern SSDs are and combines the Disk Cache with RAM Preview so you can reliably play back your whole comp even if it doesn't all fit into RAM!

Premiere Pro 25.2 is out today! It's a big release, with a major new feature I'm very proud of.
Pr now semantically analyzes the content of your video (all on-device), and with the new Search panel you can search for the shot you need with natural language. It's so awesome to be able to find that one shot in a second instead of hunting through bins and skimming stringouts.

test export of the same timeline to a 720P H265 in "native" Avid versus emulated is about 20% faster, maybe 30 (9 mins vs 6:50). So a nice little bump but it confirms that Intel emulation is extraordinary.

These are the same clips, in Avid and FCPX. Any idea why Avid randomly adds a minute to the starting source TC? None here. Just the typical random Avid BS. The TCs match properly, just not in Avid for whatever reason.
Oh, and let me add that while the visual search portion of the new Search panel does use an “AI” model, it is:
• all on device
• not training on your footage
• no extra charge to use
• easy to turn off if you never want to use it
It’s been a lot of fun bringing this new panel to life. I wish I had this tool when I was an editor!
In addition to the visual search, you can also search for transcripts or metadata across your whole project; even across all open projects (shout out to Productions people).
There’s still a lot more coming before the Search panel is finished, but please do give it a try and let me know how it goes.

@samvarma It’s not so much data storing, but collaboration/sharing on the same project. I find Avid’s bin system and media management to be the best for the kinds of things we did on Big Little Lies and Sharp Objects. But Resolve just released some new stuff this summer with v19 that looks pretty decent for sharing sequences. I’m curious if it’s been used in the wild.

Has anyone used DaVinci Resolve’s new cloud collaboration on a large form project? I’m reading up on it and it sounds pretty interesting.
Anyone have experience with Yamaha HS7's or Adam Audio T7v monitors?
Better if you have used them mixing dialogue or sound for video not just music.
Obviously these are still "budget" but this level fits what I can afford and the types of work I do mostly.

Absolutely going to request a new M4 Max MacBook Pro for work. (Upgrade from M1 Max)
The question I need to answer – Nano-texture or not? I've yet to see nano-texture displays in person. My concern is if it softens images / text.
Been a few years since I've been to an actual Apple Store.
The MBP and the Mac mini have me super excited for the M4 “Ultra" Mac Studio. And with Thunderbolt 5, could there finally be new Apple Displays on the near horizon? Perhaps with the Mac Studio & Mac Pro M4 launch this spring/summer.
Two things that jumped out at me watching this mini keynote:
- They casually threw out a reference to an upcoming version of Final Cut Pro that will have AI generated auto caption feature;
- When they listed who the Mac mini is perfect for they did not mention video editors, even though they said M4 Pro was basically twice as fast as M2 Pro, and has 20 GPU cores. Seems like it would be plenty capable compared to my 2020 M1 13" MBP

Christ today's brutal dealing w FCPX. It just struggles to render out this 36 minute timeline. Half a dozen 20min failed attempts, then finally decided to try to render in pieces, which got me most of the way there… Every time I open the project it has to re-render denoising which takes forever. Don't know why it doesn't hold onto the render files between sessions... now I'm trying to render out individual audio roles and it's only completing the process half the time

POV you got called by a photog you know to edit on the spot, footage he's filming on the fly of this pumpkin patch, so as to deliver a reel for socials by 7pm 
Video pros: I need a solution to remove objects from footage quickly and cleanly. Mostly to solve minor continuity issues. Would love it not to be too pricey, and I don't need to do all that much. Basically spot cleaning!
