I somehow missed that #Korg released a mark 2 of the #nts1 synth, which addresses the few problems I had with the original (the mini-USB port, the 15-minute auto-shutoff) while adding a bunch of features (especially I/O).
(I was using it primarily for the excellent effects engine, and it would go to sleep after 15 minutes of not pressing any notes. Now timeout is 3 hours--and you can disable it.)
Pricier than the original, but still a heck of a deal.
To me it feels like the summer has only just begun and I've been freed from the terrors of winter a month ago. But doing #weeklybeats I know this week will mark 50% of the glass being empty.

so the #korg #nts1 and #novation #bassstation2 are monophonic, but can do percussiony things. since you can't polyphonically overlap a kick and a snare or a tom and a hat, i'm thinking a kit could be something like kick, snare, hat, tom, kicksnare, kickhat, snaretom, etc.. maybe filling up an octave. open/closed hat length can be velocity based. also trying to think how i can get a #moog #DFAM sound out of it
