Wow, that was a long Alpha!

I hadn't heard a thing from the Comradery project since 2021 and then today I get an email announcing they are finally going into open Beta.

Comradery is a 'worker-owned co-op' for creatives, providing a subscription and payment platform. Think Patreon, but less evil.

I remember a media crisis in the 1980s when many of my colleagues became wine traders to survive. Now I read about that photographer who tries to survive by opening a wine bar. This time it's AI destroying the jobs of creative professionals: theguardian.com/technology/202

Perhaps we should train AI to drink wine? (sarcasmAlarm)

The Guardian · ‘It’s happening fast’ – creative workers and professionals share their fears and hopes about the rise of AIBy Jem Bartholomew

To all my creatives. You are never lacking creative ideas, your energy is just needed in another area right now. So take a break, get some rest, check on your friends, go eat something, clean your room, play your favorite game, go cry, go compliment a random person. Just Do something else for the rest of the day, and then come back again at a later date. I promise you those ideas will be there!

Just got an email from CreativePool entitled “The End of Hybrid Work by 2027: What Does it Mean for Creatives?"

Yeah, no. Creatives won't do it. There's enough pressure on us as it is. If companies still want to pursue it, they may end up having to rely on synthetic AI generated slop for their creative content.
