Back home after a magical week in the Highlands at #dhanakosaretreatcentre on the women's winter retreat studying some of the songs of #Milarepa and celebrating my birthday, to a house full of colds and sickness.
Ah yes, the truth of old age and sickness right there!
It was a lovely time away, and driving home with the crescent moon, Venus and shooting stars right ahead of me was quite magical.
Now to break out the tea tree oil!
A lovely day, we were taken on a journey following in the footsteps of the Buddha with nine personal talks from different Buddhist sites.
Great to connect with the Sangha and as usual a wonderful vegan spread for lunch!
Off to celebrate #BuddhaDay today with my local Buddhist Centre.
It's my favourite Buddhist #FestivalDay as it's a direct reminder by recollecting the stories of the Buddha's life and enlightenment that every being has the potential to grow, change, transform their world and through that, the wider world.
Looking forward to hearing from several friends who took part in a pilgrimage to many of the important places in the Buddha's life this year!

@TheConversationUS @flipboard So it's time to abandon that *Iron Age* social construct and not before time. In #Triratna, we did this 50 years ago and have never looked back. Nor do we have any institutional barriers to including marginalised people or classes.
Pretty much everyone I meet in the (increasingly elderly) #Triratna Order these days has settled into a comfortable set of views that are not up for discussion. It's so boring.
My Prajñāpāramitā study group kicks off today: we'll read my (as yet unpublished) translations of the Heart Sutra from Sanskrit and Chinese. I'm kinda nervous as I haven't done this for a long while. I've also booked a study day in Ipswich in Mar 23. #Buddhism #Triratna #prajnaparamita
A real delight to share the celebration of #SanghaDay with the #SaoPaulo #Triratna #Buddhist Sangha today.
We did some meditation, some chanting and heard the teaching to Meghia by the #Buddha on the importance of #Sangha.
Then one of the women often to drive me down to #Santos as she lives here, and helped me sort out a bus ticket back to the airport.
Really love being part of such a welcoming, worldwide Buddhist movement
