Poplin is a low cost, light fabric. Pretty sure it is available in brown.

If you're safe with scissors and a #Sewing machine then you're a fifth of the way there.

If you've got a junk bedsheet then making a trial model out of that could be informative.

Unless we can find a #Pattern?
