@shoppingtonz @alternativeto @torproject also every #Tunneling - regardless if #SSH or #VPN or whatever - will inevitably introduce #latency (unless you happen to be customer of a shitty #ISP with horrible #peering and thus can cut down on hops needed, which is AFAIK only a theoretical scenario)...

In fact I stopped using #HEnet #Tunnelbroker and #IPv6-#GIF-Tunneling because it created more issued than it solved on my #IPv4only #Internet connection…

STILL IPv4 only:

- German Red Cross (because their hoster, DT Internet, lives in a different century)
- INWX (why?!)
- Reddit (at least they're working on it, sometimes some regions get AAAA records)

Huh so currently I have DHCP updating DNS records for each lease it gives out

So question for the ipv6 inclined:

But I've been reading up on SLAAC and stateless dhcp6

Is there a common system to update DNS based on ipv6 records in such a system or would I need to use stateful dhcp6? #Homelab #Networking #IPv6

Arbeitet hier jemand bei NWX?

Wisst ihr eigentlich, dass eure Website nur über alte IPs erreichbar ist und ein Problem bei IPv6 Single Stack darstellt, weil nicht erreichbar?

Oder einfach in Hotel-WLANs mit defektem DHCP?

Some of the things I host no longer have A records, as of yesterday. That means they are no longer reachable using legacy IP.

I will further evaluate for what services I can turn off the old protocol version and exclusively use IPv6.

@quux lol, my ISP Odido also doesn't have #IPv6.
Even though it's the most upvoted feature on their forum by a factor of 8!
They are currently arguing that the law does not require it from them. I really wish that the law starts demanding IPv6 and that they enable v6 and DISABLE v4 with the argument of "We still offer internet". That would be fun... :)

@luebbermann Funktionierende Infrastruktur, eine Kultur für eigenverantwortliches Gesellschaften, Einhörner und Blajas an Stellen wo es niemand erwartet und keinen Sinn macht..

Fehlerhafte oder fehlende #IPv6 Konfiguration würde aber als Kapitalverbrechen zählen..

Mir wäre es das Wert!
