@DWTSquawk7600 Tell her I am fine. I would tell her myself but damn, we cannot get her over here. Tell her this is where all the cool kids hang out.

She's good people. Helped me out big time for years doing #Oshbash. I had the Bacon Jerky shipped to her, she drove it (64 bags a year) to KOSH, and drove me to the store to buy drinks and ice each year. They don't make 'em like her anymore. You can pass that along.

Aviators belong on squawk.mytransponder.com

Pretty sure this hour's random desktop background image on my #MacbookPro is a very cool Jim Koepnick shot of Ardy and Ed's Drive-in, located under the final approach to RWY 27 at KOSH.

#Avgeeks that know about this place make it a mandatory stop during #AirVenture.

If you ever find yourself at the show in late July each summer, go here, sit on the patio, order a Drive-in Double, fries and a Black Cow and watch as all sorts of yummy flying machines part your hair on final.

I booked a hotel in Fond Du Lac for Oshkosh 2025, my first Oshkosh/AirVenture. I should be around the point in my build where I could entertain the thought of interiors, so I'm excited to see what's on offer!

The plan today is to continue not figuring out how to install AOA and Pitot lines, and assemble a back seat back. #rv8 #airventure #vansaircraft

@futurshox Jo, I was lucky enuf to catch a media ride in Goodyear’s Wingfoot One a few years ago at #Airventure in #Oshkosh. The crew had to sort out some avionics issues before we departed, but once we did – WOW – what an interesting flight. The blimp moved around just like a boat on the ocean, sort of wallowing thru the air, never really in complete control. It was either descending or climbing, not much straight and level.

If you are at or going to #OSH24, go visit the Pink Shirts at FISK VFR Approach. I cannot tell you the exact location, ask around. (If you know the exact location, DM me).

Went there a few years ago with Thomson Meeks (of X-Plane) and his dad, and it was cool to watch the coolest controllers in the business.

When we were there, there was an incident on RWY 27 shutting the airport down, and they all just switched everyone into the holds.

The 2022 fatal midair at the Wings Over Dallas airshow between a Boeing B-17G and a Bell P-63F prompted the FAA this week to release a new “Safety Alert for Operators” (SAFO) as a “reminder” on mitigation procedures for large airshows.

Or, to save time and effort, they could have just consulted #EAA on the years of safe airshows they have managed at #AirVenture each summer. Because nobody does airshows better than EAA.

FAA’s timing is, interesting. #OSH24

Yep, I am an #Avgeek and damn proud of it.

A bunch of the #CampBacon and #Oshbash crowd had Bryan Rivera of Windtees make these up one year for ##EAA #airventure. (His design)

And related: Eugene Airport (KEUG) has their main runway (34L) closed today, so the airliners that come in over my house are landing on significantly shorter 34R. Their approach is lower and slower as they give my tall Doug Firs a haircut.

And yes, I stop whatever I am doing to watch each one fly over, because, #Avgeek.
