Feeling strung out this morning from the torrent of hatred, cruelty, misogyny unleashed this week by our 'christian' administration. This administration is anything but ...
Will try to keep some joy in hikes and volunteering at the Nature Sanctuary. This photo is an After of the wisteria work area - a 13mm iPhone photo reprocessed in Darktable. When we started, this was a desert - only vines that you could not see through. Those vines topped all of the trees in the area. There were no birds, no deer - it was silent. We found a wetland nobody knew about off to the left, and the far right has recovered to a typical understory. It will take years to plant trees and work to keep the wisteria down while it recovers. Birds have returned, and sing to us as we work. A group of 7 Whitetail deer wandered by. The area has been claimed as a nesting site by a Red-Tailed Hawk = success.
We are proud of this result.
