Uncool, #thunderbird #thunderbird73 failed to import my private key - without any error message even in the debug log. This is how to discourage users :-(
On the pro-side: This gives a change for #pEp. Hope pEp for TB Linux will come really soon now, it is desperately needed.

#thunderbird 78 still does not like my key and does not provide an error message, even in debug mode.
Now I learned that #rnp, which thunderbird uses, is available at #guix already (thanks to Justus from #sequioa project). After struggling with the bad command-line interface (even worse then #gnupg), I now at least have an useful error message. Only after enabling debug-mode, though.
If I'm luck I can remove the offending parts using sequoia tools and then import my key int TB - at last.
Thus shows one of the use cases, why I like #guix: I can install a program, which I will probably will use one for a few day, into a volatile environment. Packages required for this environment are cached, so setting it up again takes a few seconds only. And when running the garbage collector, the cache will be cleaned and the packages are gone.
Same if you need to build a program first.
No more remainings hanging around on the system for years. :-)
