@fzer0 Möööhhhh....
@fzer0 are vibe wizards sorcerers or bards?
Hmm, i'd say barbarians.
@fzer0 ohh, casting axe in your face, I like it.
Corollary might be cathartic mages (PF2e, I believe).
No joke,
this is how modern software development worked, before AI.
AI was trained on this and replaces those who did not work that way.
@fzer0 Actually there's a lot of that in Discworld, where a lot of the magic ritual is just for show.
@fzer0 Oh, and at least one of the spells has a back door - someone tries a spell, it doesn't work, the target says "I wrote that spell, you didn't think I'd invent a spell that worked against me, did you?"
@TimWardCam @fzer0 Pratchett was a tech nerd, he knew how these things worked.
@TimWardCam @fzer0 %100 that’s from Pratchet.
@TimWardCam @fzer0
This also shows up in Lois McMaster Bujold's "World Of The Five Gods" stories, where the Death Magic spell usually has lots of fancy requirements that aren't needed.
You really only need a sincere willingness to die to get your justice and for the god to agree that the injustice you suffered is real and big enough to justify killing someone.
@fzer0 Never change a working spell.
@fzer0 Vibe Wizards copy a teleportation spell from SpellGPT and end up stuck inside a tree.
@fzer0 praise Kier !
@fzer0 @jesterchen who is the artist?
@xuxxux Probably u/PLutonium273, as stated in https://meta.stackexchange.com/questions/390996/who-is-the-original-artist-of-the-comic-on-the-blog-post-do-large-language-mode
@fzer0 I dont exactly call these ai users "wizards"...
Not wizards, VIBE wizards
@fzer0
Code Spellcasters:
Vibe coders are warlocks. Sold their soul.
Wizards know the stuff and reasons, and the whole legacy with it.
Sorcerers are autistic genZ code geniuses.
Druids are the ones into IoT and hardware. Touching the real things, but with magic hands.
Bards are tech-bros-influencers.
Rangers are either Rust hackers (with lots of cats) or Python evangelists (with, well, python as animal companion).
Priests are Linux Kernel engineers.
Paladins are using Arch btw.
@pierstoval @fzer0 ... resisting the urge to ask about NixOS... just typing it in to see how dumb the question looks... hey, how did the wrap get so close to the Reply button? D'Oh
@fzer0 Vibe programming always makes me laugh, as fadhb in Irish (pronounced it sounds like “vibe”) means a problem or complication.
