I need somewhere to #rant briefly about #FlatTax systems, because I've had to someone suggesting it on #Lemmy and it's gotten me mad.

Flat tax systems aren't actually flat, for the mere fact that a single unit of currency has different value to different classes of people. $20 means less to a billionaire than it does to a middle-class person, and significantly less than it does to a poor person.

Flat taxes are regressive taxes in disguise. Don't be juked by them.
