A former KGB agent named Yuri Alexandrovich Bezmenov claimed in 1984 that Russia has a long-term goal of ideologically subverting the U.S. He described the process as “a great brainwashing” that has four basic stages.

@DemocracyMattersALot not at all. Bezmenov did not foresee American billionaires and the take over government and a President and his abandoning the rule of law to help communism. He is not talking about the KGB propping up failed business men to become politicians so they can undermine the US from within ... He's talking about Jane Fonda and leftist activists and an impending collapse of the capitalist system and democracy in 1984. All that did not happen.
Today, it's the other way round, as Nazi billionaires are dismantling the guardrails that have protected our democracy since the 1930s as have elected to blow it up or sit idle by watching a do it for them.
Still wouldn't be surprised, if the was indeed ...

Was the dissolution of the Soviet Union part of this supposed plan as well?

Because we were doing the same thing to them only we were successful.

If you don’t think our current wounds are mostly self inflicted you are living in a Tom Clancy novel.

Whoever wrote this article has never studied Reconstruction and it shows. Because everything wrong today comes from letting the South off easy in the aftermath of the Civil War.
